As the pioneer of Taiwan’s tourism service network, Cola Travel chose to transfer mass data accumulated over the years and host rooms to CHT Banqiao IDC with the highest specification in Taiwan to create the best digital blueprint. In this way, it can implement the concept of sustainable operation and provide consumers with stable and high-quality services.
With the rise of digital technology and the rapid change of consumer behaviors, affected by the wave of digitalization, using the brand, internal and external corporate systems, and protect information has become the most important problems that must be considered and solved in various industries. Vice President Shou-chian Wu of Cola Travel said:
“Based on the concept of ‘Share a better world’, Cola Travel is committed to the high-level e-management of production and marketing processes in addition to continuous service quality improvement. All information, from front-end sales channels to internal operation and upstream supply chain resources, is exchanged and shared on a platform in real-time, which greatly increases capacity and efficiency and realizes Cola Travel’s commitment to consumers - to share the beauty of the world with more consumers through fair-price and high-quality tourism products.”
Build firm data centers and strive for sustainable operation
In order to make every trip become a good memory for customers, Cola Travel attaches importance to public praise. It asks every passenger to complete the feedback form as a secret letter. It also holds regular video conferences with leaders and overseas subcontractors each week and invites foreign cooperation manufacturers to Taiwan for yearly conferences. Further, it collects consumer responses from online communities to understand the status of consumers and services by analyzing keywords analysis and improving the repurchase rate. As the number of groups increases, the data also becomes huge. A highly stable operating environment is the key to optimizing digital services. Although the high-ability host and network architectures are valued inside the company, there are still shortcomings in the data center due to the limitations of objective conditions.
In order to build secure and stable digital services, Cola Travel cooperated with CHT to build its data center in the first data center and acquired TIA-942 Rated 4 certification in Taiwan--CHT Banqiao IDC. CHT Banqiao IDC not only chooses the site far from the flood control lines and elevates the base to ensure protection from flooding but also uses dampers and isolators in the building structure to withstand 7.0-magnitude earthquakes. Water for seven days is stored to prevent drought. In the mechanical and electrical design, an uninterrupted double circuit power supply is used, and the backup power supply and efficient air conditioning can be switched over in the event of power failure. Face recognition technology is adopted for access control to prevent natural and man-made disasters and provide the highest level of information security protection.
Communications without barriers to catch up with the world in real-time
Vice President Shou-chian Wu of Cola Travel said: “Maintaining close relationships with global manufacturers and customers is an important element of the tourist industry. Keeping data synchronized on the cloud and the stability of the Internet has been Cola Travel’s goal and essential to [sustainable operation].” As a leader in Taiwan’s telecommunications industry, CHT now has 26 international submarine cables for high-speed network transmission to areas outside Taiwan. Its nodes cover 46 cities in 17 countries, including the United States, Japan, and European countries. Taiwan’s outgoing bandwidth is over 6,300Gbps, while the foreign bandwidth is over 1,100Gbps. The data center is built on CHT’s backbone network with low latency and high speed to help Cola Travel communicate with overseas subcontractors without barriers. Therefore, Cola Travel even considers using CHT-IDC as the main data center and the former data center as the remote backup center in the future to protect valuable customer data.
Globalize the information security expansion service with a carrot-and-stick approach
In the face of technological challenges, Cola Travel and CHT work together via CHT-IDC to connect customers, employees, tour leaders, and overseas subcontractors around the world to require reliable CHT to be responsible for passenger safety and brand concept and provide customers with uninterrupted high-quality services.
In the future, Cola Travel will continue to work closely with CHT’s information security consultants, monitoring center, and attack protection department. Based on CHT’s expertise and experience in this field, Cola Travel will ensure information security for its customers and employees and protect its brand value as it continues to expand its business and branches globally.
